Job Description



Fire Alarm Installers are responsible for working for the ASH Manager in the installation of fire alarm systems. Installers are expected to perform with minimal supervision.   



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  1. In conjunction with the field team, responsible for the installation of fire protection systems. Work is to be completed in a professional and workman like manner following the fire alarm design prepared, NFPA and NEC codes and standards.

  2. On a daily basis, reports to field Superintendent and / or ASH Manager on progress and / or job related problems.

  3. Keep tools in serviceable working conditions and tags those that are unsafe.

  4. Assists in the training of apprentices and helpers.

  5. Assists in cleaning up job site.

  6. Assists in cleaning and inspecting up tools.

  7. Understands FLSA's Safety program, MSDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies and procedures. Toolbox talks are mandatory reading within the first week of employment. Fitters must know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project.

  8. Installers are expected to be making progress in their fire protection education, NICET and with tools provided by FLSA

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School diploma, GED, secondary education or equivalent experience.  Minimum of 3 years of broad field experience. Ability to install basic conduit raceways, system wire and boxes. Working knowledge of industry system circuity layouts, installation and equipment connections. Ability to work independently.  Ability to meet and exceed project schedules. Possesses good communication skills.
