Job Description


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


The Extinguisher Inspector and Technician will Inspect and Service extinguisher and hood systems. He or she will complete inspection documentation and coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies. He or she will also attend seminars from time to time to stay abreast of changing technology, installation and testing approaches.


The Extinguisher Inspector and Technician must possess the following:



  1. Strong working knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes. 

  2. Extinguisher and Pre-Engineered system tech license.

  3. Must have or be able to obtain a Qualified Agent License.      

  4. Ability to perform testing and maintenance according to codes and standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


High School diploma, technical or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


 


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:


Valid driver’s license is required. Must meet the state requirements for Fire Extinguisher Inspections.

Ability to read and write clearly. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and the general public.


 


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Service Operations Manager or Service Manager.
